Introduction
The brain is a very important organ. It controls your body and other organs such as your arms, legs, eyes, lungs, heart, etc. It constantly sends messages to your organs so they move and work. Your brain NEVER stops working until you die. Some people think your brain stops working when you sleep but actually your brain needs to work constantly to send messages to your organs or you may die when you are sleeping!
The human brain has two parts. There is a right hemisphere and a left hemisphere. Each hemisphere controls the opposite side of your body. So, the right hemisphere controls the left side of the body when the left hemisphere controls the right side of your body. In your brain there are neurons that are constantly sending electrons to another neuron and that electron carries messages to an organ so that the organ functions. There are neurons through out your body so that the message can be carried out all the way until to your toes. This is how your brain controls your body.

The Cerebrum: The cerebrum is the largest part in the brain. It takes up seven tenths of the brain The cerebrum looks like a walnut mass filled with nerves. It is divided into four sections called lobes.They are the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, the temporal lobe, and the occipital lobe. The cerebrum controls action and thought. Also, The right side of the cerebrum is good at spatial tasks and the left side of the cerebrum is good at languages. The cerebrum can also be called the cortex.
The Cerebellum: The cerebellum receives and sends information to and from different parts of the brain like the spinal cord and sensory systems. It does voluntary movements such as balance, speech, posture, and more. It is below the cerebrum and the brain stem is in front of it.
The Brain Stem: The brain stem is connected to your spine. It goes down your neck and back. The brain stem is in front of the cerebellum and below the cerebrum. It does all the functions that your body needs to stay alive like digesting food, circulating blood, and breathing air. A blow on the back of the head can be deadly because the functions it controls are vital to life.
